CPR Training at Indorewala ENT Hospital

At Indorewala ENT Hospital, we believe every staff member should be prepared to act in a medical emergency. With that goal, our team recently underwent CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and COLS (Compression-Only Life Support) training.

The session was led by Dr. Nilesh Tatar & Dr. Devendra Chaudhary, who explained each step in detail. A live demonstration was also done on a mannequin. Staff members from all departments — doctors, nurses, administration, housekeeping, reception, etc, took part in hands-on practice using a mannequin. Everyone got the chance to perform chest compressions and understand the effort required in real life.

The training was interactive, with time for questions, discussions, and clarification of doubts.

This exercise ensures our hospital is medically equipped and also people-ready, with staff trained to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Steps of CPR

Check Responsiveness – Tap and shout to see if the person responds.

Call for Help – Dial emergency number & ask someone to bring an AED (if available).

Position the Patient – Lay the person flat on their back on a hard surface.

Check Breathing – Look for normal breathing for no more than 10 seconds.

Start Chest Compressions – Place hands on the centre of the chest, push hard and fast (rate: 120/min, depth: 2 inch).

Rescue Breaths – Give 2 breaths after every 15 seconds OR continue compression-only CPR (COLS).

Continue Until Help Arrives – Keep going until medical help takes over or the person shows signs of life.
